The One Atelier, the world’s leading branded residence design company, has unveiled the architectural façade and interior design vision for KARL LAGERFELD Residences Lisboa, the Maison’s first branded residential project in Portugal and the first of its kind in the city.
Developed by OVERSEAS, the project has been conceived by The One Atelier as a fully integrated architectural, interior and lifestyle concept. Located at Rua Braamcamp 48–50, moments from Avenida da Liberdade, the 11-storey building will comprise ten expansive apartments, each starting from 234 square metres.
The One Atelier has led the creative direction of the project, translating Karl Lagerfeld’s design language into a contemporary residential expression shaped by light, geometry, location and cultural context.
Architecture as signature
Designed under the architectural direction of Andrea Boschetti, Head of Architecture at The One Atelier, the building’s façade is defined by a sculptural V-shaped geometry. Vertical elements rise diagonally across the elevation, creating a dynamic rhythm that shifts in tone and shadow throughout the day.
At the upper levels, the façade transitions into a warm red gradient—an abstract reference to the frames Karl Lagerfeld used to finish his sketches. Rather than a literal motif, the colour is embedded as an architectural gesture, establishing a subtle yet distinctive signature within the cityscape.
Andrea Boschetti, Head of Architecture at The One Atelier, commented:
“When I developed the early sketches for the project, I imagined a building that would rise like an abstract sculpture, where vertical accents interact with Lisbon’s light to create a living gradient of shadow and colour. The subtle red tones are a direct homage to Karl’s iconic sketching ritual, interpreted as a symbolic signature for the residences. Architecture always begins with a drawing, and this building carries that spirit into the urban landscape.”
Interior design concept by The One Atelier
The One Atelier has developed an interior design concept defined by restraint, precision and layered materiality. Clean architectural lines are paired with tactile finishes inspired by materials Karl Lagerfeld selected for his own homes, reinterpreted for contemporary living.
Communal areas are furnished by KARL LAGERFELD MAISON, combining brushed steel, lacquered finishes, Via Láctea stone, and grigio-toned woods to create a calm, tonal environment. Residences will incorporate smart-home systems, intelligent appliances, and underfloor heating, integrating technology discreetly within the architectural framework.
A dedicated health and wellness level sits within the core of the building, housing a sauna, steam room, emotional shower, gym, treatment room and a sequence of pools, including a heated wellness pool and floating pool. The penthouse introduces a transparent-floored outdoor pool, allowing daylight to filter into the space below. All residences will also include private jacuzzies.
Michele Galli, CEO of The One Atelier, said:
“Working with KARL LAGERFELD is always an invitation to think beyond convention. For Lisbon, our goal was to capture Karl’s precision, curiosity, and love of crafted spaces, and reinterpret those values in a city defined by light, geometry, and cultural depth—where architecture, interiors, and lifestyle merge into a coherent experience. Every detail is intentional, from the rhythm of the façade to the material palette, artwork references, and the emotional quality of the wellness level. This project reflects The One Atelier’s dedication to shaping branded living that is distinctive, authentic to place, and enduring.”
Pier Paolo Righi, CEO of KARL LAGERFELD, said:
“Karl believed great design should be lived in, not just admired. With every residence, our aim is to create a place that feels personal and true to Karl’s world. The Karl spirit is expressed not only through architecture and interiors, but also in the way the concierge greets you, the calm of the spa, and the thoughtful details that shape everyday life. This is where our design philosophy meets a city defined by light and creativity, and something genuinely special takes form. We are proud to unveil the first KARL LAGERFELD branded residence in Lisbon, honouring Karl’s innovative and pioneering vision.”
Pedro Vicente, CEO of OVERSEAS, commented:
“It is a privilege to bring this vision to Lisbon with KARL LAGERFELD. Together, we have imagined a residence defined by comfort, elegance, and authenticity—a place that reflects Karl Lagerfeld’s enduring legacy and the city’s timeless charm.”
